I need 7 feet player or good basketball player to transfer to my son's high school next fall. How can I find him?How can I find exchange foreign student who is very tallest good basketball player?
Well, first of all... 7 foot tall? Really? Hyperbole...
But more importantly, it's against State Department regulations to bring a foreign exchange student to the U.S. for the sole purpose of playing a sport on a high school team. You might inquire with an exchange organization and ask to review students who have an advanced/competitive skill in basketball, but they may not have it, and just because a student says they "compete," doesn't mean they're any good. Also, if you are a coach or have any official affiliation with your son's team, you will not be permitted to host a student who plays that sport.
On the local level, if a rival school or the state athletic board believes you have brought a student to your school for the sole purpose of being a ringer, not only will that student not be able to play, but you may get in trouble. Rival schools take these sorts of things seriously, and do report suspiciously talented exchange students. Some states simply won't let them play. Maybe you live in a lax state that doesn't really care, but in those where high school basketball and football are a big deal, you'll usually find very stringent restrictions on exchange students playing (Kentucky, Indiana and North Carolina come to mind).
All of that said, if you have genuine interest in hosting an exchange student, great. But you should never do it because you want to help a sport team win. Often, students brought here for this kind of shallow reason are mistreated by their host family, particularly if they are found not to be as good at the sport as they had hoped. Bad form, all around.
Hosting is great, and many students who are passionate about an American sport are over joyed to play on the school team. I'm not saying you can't help this dream come true for a student. However, there may be regulations in place (that you'll need to find out about), and be aware that a tall Swedish kid who says he likes basketball may not be any good :)How can I find exchange foreign student who is very tallest good basketball player?
