How do tennis shoes perform as basketball shoes?

I got a nice pair of tennis shoes this Christmas but I've been playing some bball lately on indoor courts. Would I have much to gain by investing in a new pair of basketball shoes? How do tennis shoes perform as basketball shoes?
u don't need bball shoes if you have ankle braces onHow do tennis shoes perform as basketball shoes?
sometimes tennis shoes can leave rubber marks on basketball courts, so the people who run the court might not let you use them. Also the durability is different. How do tennis shoes perform as basketball shoes?
It usually won't be too bad but high tops are the best so I would lay off a little and not play too serious
depending on the tennis shoes you have, bball shoes should protect you a little more. usually tennis shoes are made a little more for running straight whereas bball shoes are crafted to account for movements in all directions a little more. so bball shoes should help prevent rolling an ankle.

like the other answer says, ankle braces can help prevent this if you want to wear tennis shoes. I just play in bball shoes, kinda only makes sense (a butter knife can screw screws, but its not exactly safe or meant for that...)
