I have the same thing,i loose confidence too, specially when i see the other players and they look like they are better than me,but i usually think everyone is better than me and when i play them they aren't,i sike myself out to much. The one thing we got to do is believe in our abilities and think your always better than the other player, not in a cocky way but in a confident way. My routine is to just relax and think about how the game is going to go. Good luck bro
I was a shooter in high school and sometimes my confidence wouldn't be great because I knew if I missed my coach would take me out. So I would get nervous. But they way I fight that was that everytime I was in the game I would tell myself that I wanted the ball and that I was the best shooter. Then all I concentrated on was putting the ball in the hoop. How can you get mental tougher or boost your confidence in basketball?
Practice your shot until you get better. Just get Open shots and you will feel confident. Practice Before games and you will know hot you are going to play, that way you will get confidence in yourself.
Your born with confidence and im sorry to say but the weak wont prosper. I also like to play on emotion when my head out the game. Think of something that makes you angry or try to prove something to da haters, this is how I get aggressive. How can you get mental tougher or boost your confidence in basketball?
well sometimes i watch michael jordan commercials and they inspire me to do better
video tape your games, go back and watch them, and see with your own eyes how sweet you are :)
(My moms account) Im 15 and im a power forward on my JV team. I'm not very good but my uncle plays basketball and i'll play against him sometimes. Most of the time I lose :-p. After i play him he shows me tricks on how to play better, just like a coach. This makes me feel more confident in my abilities. Also, my cousin plays basketball but can never figure out how to beat me. Whenever i play him i win so i feel that i am better than before. Lastly, find someone that plays a different position than you and is good at it. Let them give you chances to shine, and don't feel discouraged if you don't come through
Practice, get better and when entering a game try to call the toughest opponent. After that confidence will build.
