Hi, i was just wondering if there's anything you can buy to enhance your game in basketball. Such as pitch backs for baseball and all that stuff. i'm going to Dick's sporting goods, and i'm working really hard to get better in basketball. If you know anything that trains speed good, or just shooting, please tell me, and i'll choose a best answer! Thanks a lot! What can you use to train for basketball?
An 8-12lb medicine ball(strength %26amp; power) and drill cones(speed %26amp; conditioning) are great. The speed should be done 3 times a week, and the medicine balls 2 times a week. Playing an intense basketball game is a good way to spend an off day, and make sure one off day you have very little movement. Also, have plenty of rest in between the medicine ball workouts, because explosive workouts require 48 hours rest.
Medicine ball exercises- Starting with some great plyometric exercises and transitioning into upper body/core. I recommend sets of 4 for these
Jump Squats- common exercise. youtube/google it if unsure
Split Jumps- Start w one foot in front and one foot behind. Explode up and switch positions.
Power Skips- Just explosive skips w a medicine ball
Straight ups- start w the ball on the ground. Explode up and bring it as high as you can. Then put it on the ground and do it again
Backboard throws. Chuck the ball from 10 ft out or so against the backboard. Explode up and catch the ball. Repeat(a real glass board is best)
Wall throws- need a strong wall. Just pass it to the wall like a throwin in soccer. But really use your body to generate power
Wall ups- Use a wall or better, a partner. Be extra cautions w the wall because it requires good timing. Start in situp position w the med ball. Explode up and release the ball against the wall. Go down and catch it as you land and do it again.
Killer Planck- Get into pushup position, but then put the ball in your hands. Hold it for 10 seconds, then do a pushup, and repeat. Ultimate core+strength exercise
Twists- crutches where you twist 3 times when you go up before you go back down
Cone Drill exercises- A 15 foot by 30 foot area is needed. A backyard, football field, or basketball court works best for these. I recommend
5 sets. 3 sets normal, then the last two w a basketball

Other good things are hill sprints, and just having intense basketball practice.
i played college and now im pro and what i can tell u go out and shoot and start shooting closer to the hoop and when u can get 15 in a row go 3 ft further away from the hoop and do that until u get to the 3pt line...as far as speed just do the jump rope its gonna make u jumpo higher and quicker ... but as may know by watchin kobe his footwork is perfect so just try to emulate him on the court in slow mo and when u get how to set u feet do it game speed thats the decent way of learning...ive played him back in LA and what he does in the warmups he does fadeaways and all that stuff slow mo...box jumps...but most of all this u must have will to be better than anyone around u...for example in HS i was decent but when i realized i can be the best in my city i started working out harder than anyone and now i come back after the season n ppl give me respect...**** man croatia is good...What can you use to train for basketball?
okay well with shooting you don't have to buy anything really...its all about repetition and finding your shot. go out side and just start shooting find a way that feels comfortable and look good too. you don't want an ugly shot lol. uhm as far as speed goes, depending on how fast you are depends on what you get. pro players use parachutes as a means of resistance but i find it hard to use. in basketball speed doesn't really matter its about endurance. like try to sprint for long periods of time this helps you sprint on and off throughout a game without getting tired...but if your going to buy something..buy ankle waits it helps with speed and adds resistance. it also helps your shot because it makes you jump higher...i would buy cones personally and work on different angles of shots and maybe some running drills...your welcome a lot
you can buy some ankle weights which would help you jump higher which can also improve your jump shot... you can also buy chest weights or a wieght jacket which would put more wieght on you making it harder to run... If you wanna improve your basketball game you shouldn't just focus on one thing, work on dribbling, passing and layups... The best basketball players know how to do everything...What can you use to train for basketball?
Well it may not help you for shooting, but what helps me is [im a righty] tying my left hand behind my back and shooting one handed, it's supposed to help you get better form. Hope this helps.
play more game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that the only way it could help even u practice a lot by yourself it really doesnt help much as playing more game
